ShortDescriptionThis report provides a brief, but useful guide that links organizational design with successful leadership development, and discusses the differences between strategic and operational responsibilities.
LongDescriptionWhile this report is directed to organizational design in global companies, it offers a relevant analysis of the relationship of organizational design issues that must be addressed when dealing with organizational change and its relationship to leadership development, values, skills and competencies. The report points out the need for organizational design expertise in order to be effective. The author suggests that most organizational redesign is driven by the need to cut costs and this can lead to not asking the right questions when making decisions. He points out that the real challenge is to know where to stop and why, asking such key questions as: am I cutting fat or muscle and how would I know?
